Untitled (Coloured Feathers) 2006
0’22”

Untitled (Coloured Feathers) serves as a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life. Coloured feathers animate the confines of a glass, dancing in a flurry of air. Suddenly they all escape, leaving the vessel empty and still. A reflection of the artist appears in the glass as the film fades.

Tune In, 2006
14’21”

Tune In follows the fascinating world of amateur radio operators, better known as Radio HAMS. Dealing with the politics of space and social communication, this portrait blends documentary and abstract audio to reflect the world of HAM radio and the use of DIY equipment in an ever-changing modern world.

Platform, 2006
3’

Platform is set on an oilrig; located in a dark and grey ocean. Inside is a water-park, replete with slides, splash pools, giant toadstools and piped music. Something is being pumped through the air-conditioning system, which drifts around the space.

Joseph Hallam
Zero, 2006
9’20”

Zero investigates the between the viewer, a musician, the artist and film. It documents the happenings of an interactive performance in which a radio-controlled tank is directed through a remote film set by a member of the audience. Within the stage set the artist acts in response to the tank’s movements and a musician creates an immediate soundtrack for the film as it unfolds.

Anima-Sound (Ludwig Andus, Rolf Hampe & Alfred Luft)
Europe Tournee mit

Filmed by the SWR in 1971, this documentary accompanies the artists Paul and Limpe Fuchs, their two children and their musical project Music For Everybody on a three-month long tour through Europe. This they undertook with an old tractor hauling a self constructed trailer, which could be converted into a stage. It enabled them to perform wherever they were (un)invited; be it Munich’s pedestrian zone, in front of an audience of miners in the Ruhr District or in the open under the stars. Their archaic means of transportation also served as their home for these three months. Anima-Soundplay their freeform noise improvisations on self-constructed instruments, percussion and electronics. As the commentator of the films puts it aptly: “Anima Sound is a form of mental and physical baring”.
